Life After Abortion
Every individual’s experience with abortion is unique, and it’s normal to have a variety of emotional responses. Some may feel relief immediately, while others might experience emotions months or even years later. It’s also possible to feel nothing at all.
After an abortion, you might experience emotions like relief, regret, shame, denial, numbness, anger, anxiety, sadness, or depression. Whatever you’re feeling, it’s valid, and you’re entitled to process your emotions in your own way. There’s no need to hide them or be afraid to express them.
Support for Family and Friends
Abortion doesn’t only affect the person who makes the decision. Family members, partners, and friends can also experience a range of emotions, such as helplessness, regret, or even blame. If you’re affected by someone else’s abortion decision, your feelings are just as important and valid.
No matter how you or your loved ones are processing an abortion, talking about your emotions in a safe, nonjudgmental space can be incredibly helpful. Whether it’s your experience or someone else’s, there is support available for healing and hope, without shame or judgment. You don’t have to go through this alone. It’s never too soon or too late to reach out and speak with someone who understands.
Help, Healing, and Hope
We offer compassionate support for anyone affected by abortion, available in both individual and group settings, depending on what you’re most comfortable with. All interactions are confidential, and your privacy is our top priority. If you prefer, we can help connect you to support outside of your local area for added confidentiality.
All of our services are free, and they will remain that way.
In one-on-one sessions, you will meet with someone who is trained to support individuals affected by abortion. You’ll receive compassionate care, with no judgment, just a safe space to express your thoughts and feelings.
In group sessions, you’ll meet others who have gone through similar experiences. You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable, and you’ll be surrounded by people who understand and offer support.
We understand the complexities of your decision, and we care deeply about your well-being, both during and after your abortion. Our mission is to help you find peace and healing in your journey.
Talking about your experience can help you reframe your decision and gain the courage to move forward with freedom. The decision you made was difficult, and now you have a chance to embrace your healing. We’re here to listen and support you—call us anytime, day or night.
